“I am so gratified with myself for this first-rate achievement of Cum Laude, I have always dreamt and prayed to God that he gives me the strength and mindset to achieve this, and through faith and willpower I did it,” said the triumphant Precious Hunsley.
Hunsley just had one objective in her mind which was to successfully complete all her academic modules at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in record time and make her family proud.
“By the grace of God I never derailed from that objective as much as I faced challenges I still pushed and forged through,” she said proudly.
Hunsley, is all smiles after obtaining her National Diploma in Business and Information Management with Cum Laude from the Faculty of Accounting and Informatics. She formed part of the esteemed Durban University of Technology (DUT) Celebratory Autumn Graduation ceremony which was held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) on Wednesday, 13 July 2022.
A celebration of her success will be equally celebrated with her family, especially her grandparents, who are very proud of her and have always acknowledged her true potential.
“They have always been telling me I would come up at the top before it even happened so I would say to my grandparents are also a major contributing factor to my achievements. On some days where I felt low I would call home and they would remind me of who I was and what I can do, and that drove me to pick myself up and continue,” she expressed.
Despite experiencing many late nights, early mornings and work overload, she would push through the day at school and rest in the afternoon.
“I would make a list and timetable of all my assessments and due dates, this made it easier for me to manage my time between each task and produce excellent results,” she said.
The Empangeni lass was excited about the physical graduation ceremony as it has always been her dream to walk tall with her head held up high to collect the benefits of her hard work.
Her long term goal is to complete her Advanced Diploma in Business and Information Management and continue until she completes her Doctorate in the same field.
